2012 – Tom Ford hired Berkowitz in an advisory capacity to map out a product strategy for a men’s underwear business, highlighting categories like printed cotton stretch-knit jersey, solid cotton/lycra-stretch jersey, and woven boxer shorts. Using Ford’s iconic prints – sixties florals, op-art graphics, and animal patterns – for the new products was one of Berkowitz’s suggestions. For several years, Ford continued to develop the concept and the business. At the NY Fall 2018 Men’s Fashion Week, he launched Tom Ford Underwear for Men, which included printed knits, boxers, boxer briefs, and lounge pants among its standouts.
